This is A Shared Table — photographed at one of Chef John Fuller’s dinner parties, where the table was set before the first plate arrived.

A table can be ordinary until it becomes a threshold: between hunger and nourishment, solitude and company, distance and belonging. This image holds the tenderness of being expected, of having a place, of knowing the meal is not the only thing being offered.
